The accelerator is designed as a response to the growing need to increase and improve the deal flow between high-growth potential start-ups and possible investors. As activities in the global entrepreneurial eco-system intensify, there is a corresponding increasing need for to entrepreneurs for support in accessing new methods of financing, in addition to new markets. The accelerator programme will, through a rigorous selection process, identify and leverage the talents of these entrepreneurs, and provide them with critical training, access to new markets, access to capital, improved networks, appropriate partners and opportunities to expedite their growth.
The programme is 4 months long and includes classroom training as well as opportunities to ‘get out of the room’. It facilitates design thinking and involves the use of the lean customer development and nail it then scale it (NISI) methodologies. It allows start-ups to test and validate their assumptions using an evolving minimum viable product. Start-ups are provided the opportunity to work with mentors, industry experts and an advisory panel to establish governance structures while preparing to meet with investors.
